WASHINGTON, D.C., (June 11, 2019)—The Global Alliance for Cannabis Commerce (GACC), a trade organization representing over a billion dollars of global cannabis market share, has hired Randal John Meyer to steer the organization as Executive Director and K&L Gates LLP to support its efforts in Washington.
Mr. Meyer is considered to be one of the foremost experts on federal cannabis policy and politics. He previously served as legislative counsel to U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.). Since leaving Capitol Hill, Mr. Meyer has worked in top D.C. law firms as an appellate litigator and as a federal lobbyist on cannabis and financial services issues.
GACC Vice President Jason Beck noted “GACC is very excited to have Mr. Meyer on board as Executive Director. His knowledge and capabilities in cannabis government affairs are unparalleled.” Mr. Meyer added “I am humbled by the confidence GACC has placed in me, and proud to be working for the leading global cannabis trade organization, and on behalf of such amazing, industry-leading companies.”
GACC is proud to announce that it has retained the services of K&L Gates LLP to support the organization’s advocacy efforts. K&L Gates is a D.C. institution, consistently recognized by Chambers USA, Legal 500, and other publications for deep substantive knowledge and bipartisanship, as well as consistently ranking in the top ten firms on the National Law Journal’s Influence 50.
“We retained K&L Gates because they are recognized as one of the best lobbying firms in the world in terms of experience in the many areas of law that need to be addressed for sensible and comprehensive federal reform and regulation of cannabis, as well as their strategic advice, bipartisanship, discretion, and professionalism. We are proud to form a long-term relationship with them.” – GACC Executive Director Randal John Meyer
